Most of the early church apostles of Jesus were died as martyrs, except Judas Iscariot and the apostle John.
There was an apostle who killed with the sword, there was an apostle who be pulled by horse to death, there was an apostle who dropped from the top of the synagoge (God's temple) so that he dead, an apostle flogged to death, there was an apostle stabbed by a spear to death, there was an apostle crucified upside down (Apostle Peter).
But there have also been tortured, but did not die even though he was already fried. He is the apostle John. Then he dumped on the
What is interesting from the Martyr's death, is that they have facing all the punishment by brave! Apparently the pain of being persecuted not make them feel scared.
If you read the story furthermore, then you will find that the martyrs was kept open his mouth to preach the gospel until death.
Philippians 1:29
For unto you hath given not only to believe in Christ, but also to suffer for Him,
I am so sure that they are not just pretending to brave yet scared to death to face death, but they were really brave.
2 Timothy 1:6,7
That's why I warn you to rekindle the gift of God that is in you by laying my hand upon thee. For God gave us not a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and order.
Apparently the key is the presence of the Holy Spirit who gave the gift also to suffer for Christ. Every Christian can test him/herself, if we are suddenly visited by someone who forced you or I left Christianity or killed, whether our decisions? An honest answer will show our spiritual state: Spirit Kuduskah who meet us (not afraid to die for the faith in Jesus) or the spirit of cowardice? Because the Holy Spirit is the spirit that enables a person to obey the word of God.
God Bless you.

History Death of the Apostles of Jesus Christ
History of death of 13 apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, James the half brother of the Lord Jesus, James son of Zebedee, Bartholomew, Andrew, Thomas, Judas, brother of the Lord Jesus, Judas Iscariot Matthias successor, Paul) is a part of history church that Christians need to know, so that through it we all have an allotted strength and comfort to deal with any difficulty life.
One source who helped provide information about the history of death of the apostles of the Lord Jesus is Eusebius. He wrote a book about the history of the death of the apostles in the year 325, entitled:
"Apostles and disciples of the Savior has been spreading and preaching the gospel to the whole world." This paper has re-traced and investigated to prove the truth of these writings by famous writers of church history, namely: Mr. Schumacher.
Here is the history of the death of the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ:

Peter was crucified head downward. According to some sources, a wooden cross for Peter installed a different, namely the letter X (I think personally, the cross which Peter used to have the same Lord Jesus, it's just a different pattern of crucifixion. Peter crucified upside down). The model actually carried out the crucifixion of Peter's own petition. This is done because Peter felt unworthy to die like God and crucified Jesus.
James the half brother of the Lord Jesus and church leaders in
James son of Zebedee was a fisherman and he was the first disciples called to follow Jesus, he was beheaded in
By the time he would undergo the death penalty, he knelt beside James together, praying, it is the last prayer before he died was beheaded with James as a Christian.
Bartholomew, better known as Nathanael, he became a missionary in Asia, among others, he gave testimony in
Andrew was also crucified like Peter with the way the X in
The Apostle Thomas was stabbed to death by a spear in
Judas brother of the Lord Jesus was executed by an arrow, because he was not willing to deny the Lord Jesus.
Matthias, the apostle Judas Iscariot die instead of sentenced to stoning, and finally beheaded.
The apostle Paul was tortured with a very cruel and Kaiser eventually beheaded by Nero in
14. Besides the story of the Apostles, written by the historian Eusebius, he was also told about a preacher whose eyes were burned to the blind with the understanding that if he was blind, he will not be able to read the Bible again by which he would not be able to preach the gospel again. But the fact is he still depicted the gospel according to the verses that have been previously studied and remembered.
